Mad Cow Disease is commonly found in cows in the United Kingdom. This disease is found only in cows but there is a variation of this disease called, Variant Creutzfeldt-Jakob which affects humans. This disease attacks the brain and spinal chord and deteriorates the brain and leads to death. The German scientists Hans G. Creutzfeldt and Alfons Jakob studied the disease thoroughly, so the disease is named after them. This disease is very deadly but it can take up to a year for symptoms to occur. Not very much is known about this disease which is part of the issue with why it is extremely deadly. The lack of knowledge leads to people not understanding how it spreads and also the lack of knowledge is why there is not a cure for the disease.
